Eldon Square

Situation: Pradera Lateral wanted to repurpose unused retail and leisure space at Eldon Square shopping centre in Newcastle. The £65m project includes converting the top-floor and roof of the former Debenhams store into a 60,000 sq ft cultural, performance and leisure venue.

Task: To engage with stakeholders and the community to garner enough support to ensure the required planning applications were successful.

Action: Preparing and executing a stakeholder engagement strategy and organising wide-ranging community consultation with local people and businesses.

Result: The support we were able to demonstrate ensured the planning applications were approved swiftly and construction work is currently underway on the development.
